In February, cherry blossoms cover a corner of the sky at Vu Lang farm, where there are more than 20,000 perennial flowers with many varieties.
Established in 1963, Wuling Farm is 700 hectares wide on the border between Taichung and Yilan. This place is located in a mountainous area with an altitude of about 2,000 m, cool climate.
There are more than 20,000 perennial cherry blossom trees with many varieties, which are likened to a flower paradise on the island. The cherry blossom season at the farm starts from January to the end of March every year.
Every year, the farm holds a cherry blossom festival, which lasts about 15 to 21 days in February. This year the festival takes place from February 12 to 28. This time will be limited to 6,000 visitors a day and the number of cars in and out, only those who book a night stay or take a bus can enter.
During the cherry blossom season, this place is always crowded with visitors. This year, the weather is warm, so the flowers bloom earlier than expected, attracting tourists to see the flowers before the festival. The roads leading to the farm are congested for up to 5 km every day.
Tickets to the farm are NT$160 (about VND 130,000) per person, the elderly and children will receive half the price. From Taipei, visitors drive about 4-5 hours, or buy bus tickets to the farm.
