Fly Geyser geyser is one of the famous tourist attractions in the US little known with a mysterious and enchanting beauty.
The Fly Geyser geyser is located in the "black desert" of the state of Nevada in the US, a piece of land of 3,800 acres. This is not a completely natural phenomenon, there are two geysers on the land. The first geyser was created in 1916, when the owner of a private farm drilled a well in the hope that the desert would turn into fertile grassland, he accidentally hit a geothermal pocket of water.
Then in 1964, a geothermal energy company drilling a test at the site encountered a geothermal geyser that boiled about 200 degrees F. From there, hot water began to spew onto the surface of the well. The heat of geothermal caused the geyser to erupt at a height of 1.5m.
Over the past 40 years, minerals (calcium carbonate deposits) in the water spewed from the tap have created this distinctively shaped mound. The mound is 10-12 feet (about 2m) high and has a variety of green and red colors. Scientists say the color on the outside of the mounds is the result of a thermophilic algae, which thrives in hot, humid environments. The inside of the mounds also contains quartz, and this type of quartz is growing much faster than any other geyser. Normally, quartz doesn't start to grow for about 10,000 years in geysers, which makes the Fly Geyser even more magical.
With the perfect combination of vibrant colors, light and beautiful views, the Fly geyser has sparked endless inspiration for photographers around the world to compose photos. Visitors are impressed with the strange and beautiful images like on Mars when coming to the Fly Geyser geyser in the US. Every year, this tourist destination attracts thousands of tourists to visit and learn.
